Every Thread Counts
I first started using this saying when I was cutting fabric for customers in Eugene, Oregon. I do not have the longest wing span and sometimes I would miss the very last thread of the yardage I was cutting, as I would go back to get the last thread I would say, "Every thread counts" . After nine years of this and world of enlightenment later I realized there is a lot more to the saying, EVERY SINGLE THING COUNTS; people, things, creatures, places whatever every single thing matters, has meaning, and is worth noticing.

Sewing with Mom
As long as I can think back I have been sewing with my mom. Some of our first projects together of my choosing were denim bags. She let me figure out how to make the bag and only gave me advise when I asked her. When I showed interest in being a part of the local 4-H sewing club Mom was right there backing me up. She would go to every meeting so she could be there to help me and know what and how I was learning techniques. That year I received Reserve Grand Champion at the County Fair with Mom showing me techniques and cheering me all the way. More importantly I built some of the best childhood sewing memories I have with Mom.
